FAQ
-
Some reviews say the Bladders leak, why?
Most bladder damages are caused by the zip. Do not let the edge of the water bladder get in the zip and force through.
-
How long will the ice last?
The actual duration depends on a) how much "cold" you start with; b) how rapidly heat is absorbed.
*Tips: Freeze many bottled waters, keep them in a cooler. Swap them out when the water get warm.

How long will the battery last?
6-8 hours per charge. Click here to buy additional batteries.

How to tell if the water is circulating?
There are an inlet and an outlet on the back of the Bladder. The higher one is the water inlet; and the lower one is the water outlet. Fill water to the minimum water level. Turn the pump on. If you see the water is coming back from the inlet, that means the water is circulating through the vest.

Compcooler Body Cooling Vest With Backpack
I bought this system to wear under my leathers when riding my motorcycle in the summer heat. The backpack system works well allowing me to keep it outside my jacket (I wear two piece race leathers). If your jacket is snug already it maybe a tight fit underneath. I had some room in mine for a comfort fit and made my leathers feel a size smaller. Not at all uncomfortable. The weight added is barely noticeable. The backpack is insulated to keep the ice frozen. The quick hose connects are dry connections. That means when you unplug the vest from the backpack it only lets out a few drops. The mesh vest works well for me because it still allows airflow at higher speeds. The vest M/L is sized a little large to me. I’m 5’8” and 170 the vest is just a little to big not horrible but can be adjusted with the nylon straps on the side if you’re a little larger. I’ve got them as small as possible to keep the vest tight against me. It’s just a tad long and hangs below my hips. I tested it on high 90 degree days with high humidity. It definitely helps keep your body temp in check which in turn keeps you more alert and reduces fatigue. Cooling time lasts about an hour before it stops cooling all together if you just let it run non stop. By switching it on at traffic lights or when I’m traveling slower I was able to get three hours of cooling. I could probably get more out time of it I’m sure if I really tried. All together it works for me, and seems pretty robust. Tips: don’t fill the bladder all the way up to the max fill line use less then half it seems to make the cooling last longer. Freeze the ice pack at as low a temperature as you can. I’d say it’s worth the money. Just be aware of its limitations. It’s not an air conditioner and it won’t stop you from sweating but it will keep you from becoming a heat injury if you wear leather like I do on hot days. I refuse to give up the protection leather gives me.
